Newman Men's Soccer Signs South High All-City Goalkeeper

Wichita, Kan.- The Newman University men's soccer program has signed South High School goalkeeper Jared Brown to a letter of intent.

Brown was a four-year letter winner in high school. During his freshman and sophomore years, he attended and played at Wichita East High School, where he was twice named All-City honorable mention. He started in goal during his junior and senior years at South.

Brown was selected as the All-City first team goalkeeper following his senior season, and also earned a spot on the All-State second team in 2001.

This is the fourth Newman men's soccer signing from Wichita South this year. Brown will join high school teammates Aaron Gramke, Josh Lowe and Justin Mead who have also signed to play at Newman in the fall.

Brown is the ninth local player to sign with the Jets this year.
