Newman Men's Soccer Scores Hat Trick With Recruits From Wichita South

Wichita, Kan.- The Newman University men's soccer program has signed Wichita South High standouts Aaron Gramke, Josh Lowe and Justin Mead to letters of intent to play soccer at Newman.

All three were starters on the 2001 Titans squad that challenged for the City League title.

Mead was a four-year starter at forward for the Titans, leading the team in scoring in each of his four seasons. He finished his high school career with 80 goals and was named to the All-City and All-State first teams after his senior season.

Lowe, a midfielder and forward, captained the Titans during his senior year. He scored three goals and had twelve assists during his career at South. He was named All-City honorable mention for the 2000 and 2001 seasons.

Gramke ended his playing days at South with 18 goals and 20 assists. He is a versatile player who can be useful at several positions. He proved this at South, spending time during his senior season both in the midfield and the defense. Gramke was named All-City Honorable Mention after his senior season.

With these additions, Head Coach Cliff Brown and the Jets have now signed seven new Wichita area players for the 2002 season.
