Newman University Men's Soccer Falls in National Rankings, Land at #21

Wichita, Kan.- The Newman University Jets men's soccer team is ranked #21 in the NAIA national men's soccer rankings released today. The Jets were ranked #10 in last week's poll.

The Jets defeated York College, York, Neb., 2-0 Saturday on the road before dropping a 3-0 away game to conference rival Bellevue University, Bellevue, Neb on Sunday.

Newman is 7-2-1 on the year, 3-1 and tied for first place in the Midlands Collegiate Athletic Conference with Bellevue. They moved down in the Region IV rankings from the top spot to a tie for #2 with Hastings College, Hastings, Neb.

The three goals given up by the Jets were the first goals allowed since August 31.

Newman will be at home this weekend to celebrate Soccer Alumni Weekend. They Jets will take on University of Science and Art of Oklahoma, Chickasha, Okla. on Friday, October 4. Kickoff is scheduled for 6 p.m. at Wilkins Field on the Newman campus.
