Newman University Men's Soccer To Take On Berry College, Spring Hill College in Georgia

Wichita, Kan.- The Newman University Jets men's soccer team will open the season on Saturday, August 31 at Berry College in Mt. Berry, Ga. Kickoff is 11 a.m. central time. This will be the first match of the season for both teams.

Berry College is ranked 12th in the NAIA preseason poll. Newman is ranked 24th.

Berry College defeated the Jets last year 3-0. It was the first meeting between the two schools.

On Sunday, September 1, the Jets will take on Spring Hill College of Mobile, Ala. The match will be played in Mt. Berry, Ga. Kickoff is scheduled for 1 p.m. eastern time.

Spring Hill College is 1-0 on the season, opening with a 7-0 thumping of North Georgia College on August 28.

This will be the first meeting between Newman and Spring Hill College.

This will be the first trip for the Jets on AirTran Airlines. In past trips to Georgia, the team has traveled by bus, enduring trips of more than 12 hours each way. The change in travel arrangements mean players will not miss any class for this road trip.
