Newman Men's Soccer Dips to #20 in NAIA National Soccer Poll
Wichita, Kan.- The
Newman University Jets men's soccer team dropped to #20 in the NAIA national
men's soccer rankings released today. The Jets were ranked #15 in last week's
poll.
The Jets had a tough week at home against talented opponents last week, dropping
a match to John Brown University 2-1 on Friday and playing to a 2-2 tie with
then-#21 Hastings College on Sunday.
Newman is 11-4-2 on the year, finishing 4-2 and in fourth place in the Midlands
Collegiate Athletic Conference.
The Jets remain at the number two spot in the Region IV rankings this week behind
Park, who rose to #5 in the national NAIA poll. Hastings College sits in the
third spot in the regional poll and climbed to #18 in the national rankings.
The Newman
men will close the regular season this Saturday, November 2, with a match at
Benedictine College in Atchison, Kan. Kickoff is scheduled for 3 p.m.
