further their education.

Healy
has been accepted and will begin medical school this fall.
Newman
soccer alumni George Velten and his wife Michelle have welcomed a new
addition to the family.
Gabriel
Gavin Velten was born July 26. Mom, Dad and baby are healthy and happy.
Campus
High School head men's soccer coach and Newman soccer alum Jeromy Swearingen
has been named 2002 Ark Valley League Coach of the Year.
Congrats Jeromy!
Men's
and women's soccer alumni were on campus as part of Newman's Alumni
Soccer Weekend in October.
Several past Jets attended the game on Friday evening to watch both the
men's and women's varsity teams rack up 2-0 victories over University
of Science and Arts of Oklahoma.
On Saturday, the men had more than twenty alumni show up to face off in
the men's alumni game. Their was no shortage of offense in the game, with
the white team leading the red team 5-4 with minutes to play. A phantom
penalty call by the referee as time expired, converted by the red team,
assured the game would end in a 5-5 tie.
Greg Gray won the MVP award for the men after scoring a hat trick.
Thanks to everyone who took part in this year's events.
Many
Jets alumni have moved on to share their soccer knowledge with the next
generation.
Johnny Martin is an assistant for both men and womens teams at South High,
Adam Hunter (Dodge City High and Dodge City Community College) and Jeremy
Swearingen (Campus men and women) are all on the sidelines in high schools
around Kansas. Jets
women's head coach Alan Shepherd (Kapaun women)
also coaches at the high school level.
Alumnus George Velten currently coaches the men at Wylie High School,
just north of Dallas, TX.
Join the newly formed Jets Soccer Booster Club and get membership
