Coach Brown
Head Coach
Cliff Brown

Brown's recent successes include taking his 1996 men's soccer team to the program's first NAIA National Tournament and returning again in 1999 and 2000, as Great Plains Region champions. The success of the men's team has earned him coach of the year honors from the Midlands Collegiate Athletic Conference and the Great Plains Region.

He coached the men's team to a District 10 championship in 1988. In 1994, he was named men's soccer conference coach of the year.

Brown completed his 14th year as head men's soccer coach at Newman University with the close of the fall 2001 season. His career record as a collegiate coach stands at 167-141-10, all with the Jets.

Coach Brown has had players named to NAIA All-America teams 26 times. He has coached players named NAIA Academic All-Americans 8 times.

Before arriving at Newman University, Brown had a successful professional career as a goalkeeper. He began his career in 1978 with the Seattle Sounders. He also played for the Cleveland Force, Tulsa Ambush, Kansas City Comets, Toledo Pride and the Wichita Wings. He is currently playing indoors with Kansas Select.

Brown earned his bachelor of science degree in business from Newman in 1991.

Andres Rodriguez

Assistant Coach Andres Rodriguez
Andres Rodriguez is entering his second year as the Jets assisitant.

Originally from Ecuador, Rodriguez played his college soccer at Newman before returning home to play professionally for Sporting Quito in Ecuador's First Division.

Assistant Coach David Gray

David Gray enters his first year as a member of the Jets coaching staff. Gray played midfield for the Jets during his playing days and will now take on some coaching duties as he works towards completing his degree.


Assistant Coach Jon Harris

Jon Harris spent four years playing forward for the Jets, twice playing in the NAIA National Tournament. He will take his leadership abilities to the Jets sideline as he spends his first year on the coaching staff.
